This piece is part of series of wall pieces blending scientific advancements, mathematical concepts, and cosmological imagery. They are represented using cedar bark basketry which has been practised for thousands of years to the present day. Both the old and the new are connected by hand and mind.

The same hand and mind that wove those first baskets thousands of years ago have now made the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and the James Web Telescope, orbiting the Sun, 1 million miles from Earth. Each piece reflects the fusion of acient practices with modern innovation, connecting tradition and progress.

Sustainably sourced materials, harvested and prepared in collaboration with small woodland owners, echo Nick’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
