I found this plant growing beneath a bird-table in a garden. It grew quickly and then produced this formidable seed pod. Commonly known as Jimsonweed, it is thought to be a native of North America and must have come in with the birdseed mix. The seed pod, also known as a thorn apple, is certainly a striking object and was calling out for its portrait to be drawn.
