Nick’s Expansion – Teasel – Dipsacus fullonum Wins President’s Award at SBA Plantae 2025

To mark its 40th anniversary, the Society of Botanical Artists held an extraordinary exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London — showcasing work by over 200 artists from around the world.

Beyond exhibiting, Nick also managed the framing and delivery of 130 international artworks — giving him a first glimpse at the global talent represented in the show.

Nick’s drawing Expansion, a beautiful study of the teasel- Dipsacus fullonum, was not only selected for the show — it was given the President’s Award, by the SBA. A standout among exceptional talent, the piece reflects Nick’s ongoing focus on native hedgerow plants.

Created over several winter months, Expansion is the result of countless hours of precise observation and meticulous rendering— a testament to Nick’s commitment to both craft and subject.
